The U.S. Green Building Council's LEED website provides tools for building professionals.

A calendar of green building industry conferences  LEED certification for buildings has to involve either new construction or a  major renovation. If you're already in the building, and are not still in the  construction/renovation process, LEED certification is not likely.  However,  simple improvements to existing structures can save still businesses money. Economic conditions to cause drag on cement consumption
The conditions facing the construction industry are likely to remain weak for another year or more, causing a drag on cement consumption, according to the most recent economic forecast from Skokie, Ill.-based Portland Cement Association (PCA).

GSA signs lease for temporary housing during headquarters modernization
GSA took a major first step in the modernization of its historic headquarters building today with the award of a 288,255 square foot lease to Stonebridge Carras. The building, One Constitution Square, located at 1275 First Street NE, will be used as swing space to house approximately 1,200 GSA employees while their headquarters at 1800 F Street NW undergoes an extensive modernization funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

Octogenarian earns HVAC recertification, can't wait to take the test again in 5 years
Every five years heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVACR) technicians certified by North American Technician Excellence (NATE) must pass an exam to retain their certification. So it was not unusual for John Hall, first certified in 1999, to take a recertification exam last month. What was unusual is Hall’s age. The owner of Hall’s Electric in Gulfport, Miss., is 84 years old.
